HOW CAN YOU KNOW THE TRUTH?

How can you know for certain that Jesus is truth? Jesus clearly says in John 14:6 “I am the way the truth and the life. Pretty heavy claim for anyone to make at the time. During that time, Jews were taught to worship and follow an invisible God. Jesus appeared to them as a man. However Jesus performed miracles that set him apart from the many prophets the preceded him. He lived a blameless life and he rose himself from the dead. We weren't there 2011 years ago to see the events take place with our own eyes. So, how do we know that Jesus is the truth? We can know the truth based on it's characteristics. John 8:31-32 testifies that Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. People today are being set free from their sins by accepting Jesus, the truth, into their hearts. Some people have over come pride, lying, addiction, jealousy, stealing, murdering, lust or sexual promiscuity, and even cursing by accepting the Truth as king over their hearts. Another characteristic about the truth is that the truth has no contradictions. John 4:24 testifies that God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. When someone is changed by the truth a real commitment shows in their lifestyle and personal attitude. So if the son (Jesus) sets you free, you will be freed indeed. John 8:36 (NIRV)
